DRASTIC CHANGES IN STATS FOR APRIL 2020
WOODBRIDGE, VA. May 12, 2020—REALTOR® Association of Prince William (PWAR) has gathered Prince William County’s most recent market statistics, generated by SmartCharts, an affiliate website of Showing Time. The market statistics are gathered through data provided by Bright MLS, which serves as the multiple listing service for Prince William County.
A total of 579 homes were sold in April 2020, a large decrease of 12.1 percent compared to April 2019. The number of under contracts saw a noticeable decreased of 27.1 percent year-over-year, from 1,165 to 849. New listings also showed a drastic decrease year-over-year, with 743 new listings, as opposed to 1,118 in April 2019. There were also noticeably fewer active listings available this year with 652 active listings in April 2020, compared to 927 in 2019. The median sold price of homes saw a rise in March, increasing 7.6 percent to $410,000 as compared to $381,000 last year.
