MORE AVAILABLE LISTINGS IN THE AUGUST 2021 PRINCE WILLIAM HOUSING MARKET

WOODBRIDGE, VA. September 22, 2021—REALTOR® Association of Prince William (PWAR) has gathered Prince William County’s most recent market statistics, generated by Virginia REALTORS® Chief Economist, Lisa Sturtevant, and SmartCharts, an affiliate website of Showing Time. The market statistics are gathered through data provided by VAR and Bright MLS, which serves as the multiple listing service for Prince William County. 

A total of 974 homes were sold in August 2021, a shallow increase of 2.7 percent compared to August 2020 at 948. The number of pending sales saw a decrease of 1.6 percent year-over-year, from a close 986 to 970.  New listings showed an increased percentage year-over-year, with 1,197 new listings, as opposed to 1,063 in August 2020. PWAR had more active listings available last month with 597 active listings in August 2021, compared to 390 in 2020; a difference of 53.1 percent. The median sold price of homes saw an increase of 8.7 percent to $452,000 as compared to $416,000 last year. The average days on the market reduced to 11 in August 2021, as opposed to 14 in 2020.
