Bright MLS: Updates to Days on Market for listings imported from MRIS

As of late last week, 529,442 recently closed and older, off-market listings that contained Contingent w/o Kickout (CNTG/No KO) in their history were updated. These listings were initially imported from MRIS as Active Under Contract, which created an extended Days on Market (DOM/CDOM), compared to what was previously showing in MRIS. Their history has been updated to reflect Pending instead of Active Under Contract, and the DOM/CDOM has been recalculated and reduced.

Please note: If your listing(s) is currently in the Active Under Contract status, we did not apply these changes or make your current listing Pending. Bright MLS did not want to assume the status or marketing for the listing. If you want the listing to be placed in the Pending status, change the listing status to Pending. It will take about 24 hours for your DOM/CDOM to be updated after the change is made.

In addition to the change above, the following updates have recently been made or are in progress in relation to Days on Market and statuses in Bright.

  • 1. DOM accumulating on Coming Soon listings: DOM was incorrectly accumulating on some listings in the Coming Soon status. We corrected most of the issues related to this as of the January 31 release. We are working to correct one lingering issue, as well as all previously entered listings that were affected. We expect this to be complete by February 22.

2.DOM shows a higher number of Days than CDOM in some instances: Some instances of missing history information are creating extended DOM and CDOM for listings, as well as higher DOM than CDOM. We are working to identify all affected listings and update the history so the DOM and CDOM can recalculate. We are incrementally making these corrections and expect this work to be complete in March.

    3. (Temporary change made 2/13/19) Listings placed in the Withdrawn status to reset DOM/CDOM: Withdrawn was incorrectly used as a final listing status, with the expectation that DOM/CDOM would reset. A temporary change allows DOM/CDOM to reset when a new listing is added after the previous listing has been in the Withdrawn status for 60 days. Learn more.

    4. (Listings updated 2/16/19) MRIS imported listings in the Contingent w/o Kickout (CNTG/No KO) status: As of late last week, 529,442 recently closed and older, off-market listings that contained Contingent w/o Kickout (CNTG/No KO) in their history were updated.
