WOODBRIDGE, VA. January 26, 2022—REALTOR® Association of Prince William (PWAR) has gathered Prince William County’s most recent market statistics, generated by Virginia REALTORS® Chief Economist, Lisa Sturtevant, and SmartCharts, an affiliate website of Showing Time. The market statistics are gathered through data provided by VAR and Bright MLS, which serves as the multiple listing service for Prince William County.
 

A total of 761 homes were sold in December 2021, a decrease of 8.3 percent compared to December 2020 at 830. The number of pending sales also saw a decrease of 14.2 percent year-over-year, from 556 to 477.  New listings showed a new decreased percentage year-over-year, with 504 new listings, as opposed to 564 in December 2020. PWAR had fewer active listings available last month with 202 active listings in December 2021, compared to 261 in 2020; a difference of 22.6 percent. The median sold price of homes saw an increase of 6.7 percent to $440,000 as compared to $412,500 last year. The average days on the market increased to 19 in December 2021, as opposed to 14 in 2020.
