Warning! Email Scam Advisory: Has a trusted contact recently emailed you a PDF file to open?

A email scam is circulating that aims to trick the user into giving them access by sending over a (fake) link to a PDF from what appears to be a trusted source.

The scam email is sent from compromised accounts and uses subject lines and file names that the target is likely to click on. Once the hacker has gained access, they target your clients by sending emails that appear to be from you.

Below is a sample email tag line template from NAR to utilize.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: Never trust wiring instructions sent via email. Cyber criminals are hacking email accounts and sending emails with fake wiring instructions. These emails are convincing and sophisticated. Always independently confirm wiring instructions in person or via a telephone call to a trusted and verified phone number. Never wire money without double-checking that the wiring instructions are correct.
