Who is it for?

The Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation is for real estate buyer agents who focus on working directly with buyer-clients at every stage of the home-buying process.

How to Earn It

  • Complete the two-day core designation course.
  • Complete one of the ABR® elective courses.

Pay

Submit the designation application along with documentation of five completed transactions.

Work Experience

  • Documentation of five completed transactions in which you acted solely as a buyer representative.

Professional Affiliation

  • Membership in good standing in REBAC
  • Membership in good standing in the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR).

Additional Costs -REBAC Dues

  • First year of REBAC membership is free
  • Second year is $110, but prorated based on the month you joined REBAC
  • $110 per year thereafter

Lisa Preston-Kenton

Instructors

Lisa, an Associate Broker with Weichert, Realtors has been licensed in Virginia since 2003 and recently received her Maryland License. Having been called a lifelong student by her Father, Lisa holds her GRI, SFR, and PSA certifications along with her ABR and CRS designations.

Because she is passionate about learning and instructing, she is also a Real Estate Educators Association (REEA) certified Gold Standard Instructor where she believes in enhancing student development through an engaging learning environment while having fun. She believes in showing me, coaching me, then letting me approach. She believes that education is an investment that pays dividends in confidence, expertise, and trust. This means you’re confident in your profession as the expert which develops trust with your clientele.

Along with being a Qualified VA Housing Trainer, currently you will find Lisa teaching Principal and Practices of Real Estate for Salesperson or Pre-licensing. She is also a new agent mentor, has done agent training in her office, and is an approved Maryland Real Estate Commission Broker Supervision Instructor.

In her spare time, Lisa believes in giving back by volunteering as a PWAR Small Group Member, leading, facilitating, and teaching a weekly small group study, and does ministry work in her church which includes being a presenter in new members’ class.
