I’m Angie Bassette, Community Development Analyst for Prince William County. I administer the county’s First Time Home Buyer Program. I am also the Case Manager for the Dawson Beach Transitional Housing Program, and I work alongside some local non-profits that own and operate Affordable Rental Units. In the late 1980’s I obtained my real estate license while working as a property manager for a small real estate company in Centreville. When interest rates began to drop in the early 1990’s, I went to work in the mortgage industry where business was booming. In 2000, I decided to start a family, trade in the long hours for a new job closer to home, and was fortunate to be hired as a Housing Agent for Prince William County. Three years later, my son was born and I returned to work for my previous employer in a managerial position. I remained in the mortgage industry until 2016 when I returned to work for the county a second time in the Office of Housing and Community Development. I enjoy helping families obtain affordable housing, and find my job especially rewarding when I am able to assist low to moderate income families purchase their first home. In my free time, I’m an avid UFC fan.
