Lunch and Learn: The Power of the Credit Score

Rob Heltzel is a Sr. Sales Manager for Fairway Independent Mortgage and a 41-year veteran of the mortgage business.  Prior to Fairway, Rob spent 2 years with George Mason Mortgage as a Sr Vice President after operating his own business – Heltzel Mortgage, a Manassas Virginia based mortgage banking firm – for 35 years. Rob has originated residential mortgage loans since 1981 and is also an approved underwriter for FHA and VA as well as a past president of the Virginia Mortgage Lenders Association (2012).  Rob has been a presenter or teacher for a number of Realtor associations, financial services associations, and universities in the DC metro area and Virginia.

Rob has been active in the non-profit community for over 40 years, having served as President or Chairman of local nonprofits such as SERVE, Inc., The Manassas Housing Trust Fund, Kiwanis Club of Bull Run and The Family Off Road Riders of Prince William County.

Married to his wife Lisa for 39 years, they have (3) grown children, (6) grandchildren and live in Haymarket, VA.  Rob is a big DC sports fan, and has been a musician in the DC area music scene since 1982, the last 20 years with the band Type A.
