Description

The home inspection is one of the most crucial parts of the home buying process. Offers are finalized or revoked as a result of a home inspector’s report. A home inspection can be a source of anxiety for buyers, sellers, and real estate agents. However, real estate agents can ease some of their clients’ anxieties by helping them to be better educated and prepared for the home inspection process. A good home inspection should be thorough so that all parties have confidence when completing the home buying process.

Course Objectives:
By the end of this course, participants will be able to:
•Direct their clients to the best inspectors
•Better equip the buyer for the home inspection
•Advise and prepare the seller
•Anticipate frequently asked home inspector questions

Greg Clatterbuck

Instructor

Meet your instructor, Greg Clatterbuck. Greg, founder of Clatterbuck Home Inspections, embarked on his journey after earning a physics degree from Longwood University. His academic path was guided more by his desire for activity than by the gravity of choosing a major. Post-graduation, Greg delved into the world of residential structural design at the Roofing and Flooring Trust Company, gaining invaluable insights into the construction of homes. This foundational experience laid the groundwork for his future success as an exceptional inspector.

However, Greg soon found himself seeking more fulfillment and purpose. Despite a stint working with a local inspector, the fire department beckoned to him, echoing his longstanding volunteerism. Opting for a career that demanded action over desk-bound monotony, Greg became a dedicated firefighter and paramedic, a role he’s upheld for two decades. The demanding yet flexible 24-hour shifts afforded him the opportunity to pursue his entrepreneurial aspirations.

Drawing upon his background in physics and structural knowledge, Greg ventured into the realm of home inspection, leveraging his firefighting experiences to hone his ability to thrive under pressure and cultivate strong interpersonal skills. His decision to recruit retired and active firefighters as inspectors proved ingenious, as their inherent traits—punctuality, professionalism, attention to detail, discipline, and effective communication—contributed to the rapid growth of his business.
