Veteran with 28 years of service as an Army Chemical Officer. Training and duties included effects of nuclear, biological, chemical and radiological hazards on the modern battlefield.  Familiar with the different types of radiation (alpha, beta, and gamma particles), their effects, and steps necessary to reduce the military significance of these radiation particles. Radon hazards are the decay products of radon that produce alpha radiation particles.
