GREAT STRIDES FOR FEBRUARY 2020 HOME SALES IN PRINCE WILLIAM

WOODBRIDGE, VA. March 12, 2020—REALTOR® Association of Prince William (PWAR) has gathered Prince William County’s most recent market statistics, generated by SmartCharts, an affiliate website of Showing Time. The market statistics are gathered through data provided by Bright MLS, which serves as the multiple listing service for Prince William County.

A total of 443 homes were sold in February 2020, a significant increase of 20.4 percent compared to February 2019. The number of under contracts saw a decreased by 7.4 percent year-over-year, from 822 to 761.  New listings showed an acceptable increase year-over-year, with 719 new listings, as opposed to 689 in January 2019. There were noticeably fewer active listings available this year with 496 active listings in February 2020, compared to 713 in 2019. The median sold price of homes grew in February, increasing a near 4 percent to $384,000 as compared to $370,000 last year.
