WHY RPAC? Short answer is that it works…year after year it works to protect your profession and the rights of your clients. In 2016 VA Realtors and their RPAC defeated a proposal to create daily fines of $200 for signs in public right of way; got BPOL tax reformed; there are still approx. 640 unlicensed home inspectors but they will have to be licensed by July 1, 2017-take credit for that when explaining why a client should engage your services. Also take the credit for winning prohibitions against POAs charging property owners because there is a renter in their property (potential savings=$1,200!). This is just a sample.
This week, the House and the Senate sent each other the bills approved by their Chambers. There were 2,517 bills introduced. Over 200 needed Realtor attention – some supported, some opposed. Realtors continue to monitor. 62 of 75 we are supporting have passed thus far. 14 of 15 we opposed have been killed.
