REALTOR® Dues are Payable on December 2, 2022
PWAR offers two types of memberships:

Realtor
In order to become a REALTOR® member, you must be a licensed real estate agent, broker or appraiser in Virginia. Agents must also be affiliated with a REALTOR® firm that is a member of PWAR. New agents are also required to complete a New Member Orientation within 90 days of application submission. 2022 Affiliate Dues Renewal
As per the Bylaws, Article X, Section 3:
Dues Payable: Dues for Affiliate Members shall be payable annually on the first business day of January. If dues remain unpaid on the last business day of January your membership will be suspended without reference to any other provision of these Bylaws. All dues, fees and assessments are non-refundable.

**RPAC CONTRIBUTIONS**
Contributions are voluntary. Contributions are not deductible for federal or state income tax purposes. Contributions to RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes. You may contribute more or less than the suggested amount. You may refuse to contribute without reprisal and the National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. Up to 100% of your contribution is sent to National RPAC and is charged against your limits under federal law (2 U.S.C. 441a); National RPAC returns up to 70% of your contribution to Virginia RPAC for use in connection with the election of state and local candidates in Virginia.

2022 Realtor Dues Renewal
Per PWAR Bylaws Article X, Section 3: Dues for all Members shall be payable annually in advance on or before the 1st of January. If dues are not paid on or before the 15th of January, a late fee as established by the Board of Directors will be assessed. If dues remain unpaid by close of business January 31st, a reinstatement fee in addition to the late fee shall be assessed as established by the Board of Directors annually. All dues, fees and assessments are nonrefundable.

*Contributions to Virginia REALTORS® RPAC are voluntary and are used for political purposes; they are not deductible for federal or state income tax purposes. Members may contribute more or less than the suggested amount and may refuse to contribute without reprisal. The National Association of REALTORS® or any of its state associations or local boards will not favor or disfavor any member because of the amount contributed. NAR has established state Federal RPAC Disbursement Allocations based on anticipated National RPAC needs. Thirty percent of all Major Investor contributions are sent to NAR to be applied to the Federal RPAC Disbursement Allocation and are charged against the limits under 2 U.S.C. 441a with the remaining seventy percent maintained for state and local usage. Decisions regarding Virginia REALTORS® RPAC contributions to meet the Federal RPAC Disbursement Allocation will be made throughout the fundraising year. The contributor certifies that they are at least 18 years old and are making this contribution with their own personal funds- not those of another person or entity, nor are they a foreign national or federal contractor.

Non-Deductible Dues
Compliance with the Tax Reform Act of 1993 requires that the portion of dues attributable to lobbying and political activities at the State and Federal levels of government be considered nondeductible for income tax purposes. This non-deductible portion must be disclosed to members on their dues invoice each year.
STATE: Dues of $185 per member, Virginia REALTORS® computes 11.2% or $17.36 to be non-deductible for the member’s income taxes due to Virginia REALTORS® lobbying efforts, and political activities. Membership dues are not deductible as charitable contributions, but may be deductible as ordinary and necessary business expenses subject to restrictions imposed as a result of association lobbying activities. Note that the entire $155 new member fee qualifies as a deductible expense.
NAR: For 2019, with dues at $150 per member, NAR computes 38 percent or $57 to be nondeductible for the member’s income tax purposes due to NAR lobbying efforts. Please note that the entire $35 Consumer Advertising Campaign special assessment qualifies as fully deductible.

Affiliate Membership Application
Joining is easy, just complete a short application and submit with payment via check or credit card. There are three ways to submit your application: fax to 703-565-0039; Email Angie; or mail to Attn: Membership Department, 4545 Daisy Reid Avenue, Ste. 150, Woodbridge, VA 22192.
Membership Change Form
To Change, Transfer or Terminate your membership you will need to complete the Membership Change Form. Many changes can be made online by logging into the PWAR website, such as home address, email, and contact numbers. To log-in your Member ID is your Real Estate license number, and your Password is the digits in your home address.
PLEASE NOTE: When transferring offices, agents must belong to the local association the broker or managing broker belongs to. If your new broker or managing broker does not belong to PWAR, you will no longer be eligible for PWAR membership. Please contact angie@pwar.com with questions.
