Woodbridge, VA. May 1, 2023 – Members of the REALTOR® Association of Prince William and their community outreach group partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of America during Fair Housing month to read books and discuss what fair housing means.
Fair Housing Month is an opportunity to educate everyone on the importance of equal treatment when looking for a home. PWAR challenged children 10 and over to write an essay based off of the topic, “What does Fair Housing mean to me?” and children under 10 were asked to submit a poster that captured the essence that Fair Housing is for Everyone.
All children were gifted a gift card for their participation. Zoe (10) and Gabe (8) were winners, both received a Fire HD Tablet.
“It’s always a pleasure to collaborate with the Boys and Girls Clubs. We were thrilled to teach the Club Kids the importance of Fair Housing; they were eager to engage and learn about the protected classes. Their essays and drawings were heartfelt, and we thank and congratulate them for their participation. We’re looking forward to next year’s event.” stated 2023 PWAR President Beth Grant.
